Our Seated Suppers offer a relaxed and intimate setting, perfect for celebrating with friends or entertaining your most important clients. Each host is given exclusive use of the shop for the evening. In advance of the event, we will work with you to create a tasting menu that reflects the season, highlights a specific region, and showcases the fabulous produce & wines we have sourced directly from small producers. HOW DO WE PLAN YOUR PERFECT MENU?
We design each supper to reflect the style of food that you and your guests would enjoy. Once we know the dietary requirements of your guests & your dietary preferences we can begin to create a menu with the very best of seasonal produce, inspired by the regions of France, Italy & the British Isles. SPRING menus highlight the year's early produce, treated with a lightness that is essential as we emerge from winter. A spring menu might include peas, broad beans, asparagus & Jersey Royals – perfect with roast chicken, rose veal or spring lamb.
SUMMER menus take on a more Mediterranean feel - tomatoes from Sicily, violet aubergines, courgette flowers stuffed with delicate sheep's milk ricotta & herbs, or Borlotti beans braised with baby vine tomatoes served with rump of lamb roasted with rosemary and rose garlic.
AUTUMN brings all manner of colourful pumpkins & squash, wild mushrooms & orchard fruits, all fabulous with slow roast pork & duck.
WINTER is the time to indulge in hearty dishes, from Bolito Misto alla Piedmontese to Côtes de Boeuf with Béarnaise & duck fat roast potatoes finishing with a classic Tarte Tatin of heritage apples or pears, poached in marsala with Zabaglione.
THE CHEESE PLATE
A LA FROMAGERIE tasting supper would not be complete without the perfect cheese plate. Selected by our cheesemongers, it will complement your menu and wine pairings, and we can arrange for the plate to be tutored, giving an added dimension to your evening.
We have an eclectic selection of wines offering the perfect pairings to the cheese. We have sourced many of them from where the cheeses are produced, allowing us to explore the true taste of each terroir.
From our own house label wine, Chateau Le Roc – from the vineyards of Jean Luc & Frederic Ribes situated just north of Toulouse – to an exceptional Santenay 2009 Clos de Tavennes Prem. Cru or Amarone Delle Vapolicella Classico from Verona. Many of our wines are sourced directly from the maker, but cover a wide spectrum of price. When budget allows we are delighted to arrange tastings that are just that little bit special, with a tasting glass paired with each plate, allowing you to taste some really exceptional & unique wines.
Costs per head are determined by the style of wines requested by the client.
