romanengo of genoa
Candied Fruits & Marron Glace for Easter. The company, Pietro Romanengo fu Stefano was founded in Genoa in the secon half of the 18th century by Antonio Maria Romanengo, who opened his first colonial goods & drug store in Via Maddalena, Genoa. Their lavishly decorated shop takes its inspiration from Parisian confectionary shops of the 18th century and is well worth a visit if you are in the region. The exquisite confectionary is still made in the original workshops on Piazza Campetto fitted out with the earliest examples of French industrial machinery.
italian colomba easter cake
This special Easter 'Cake' symbolises both peace & the Holy Spirit. The Dove has become the shape of the famous traditional Easter cake in Italy, served as a dessert or with dessert wines such as Moscato d'Asti when entertaining family & friends over the Easter Holiday. Our Colomba cakes are made by the artisan bakery of Dogliani in Tuscany & together with biscotti and the Pan di Vino the selection is both delicious & reflective of classic baking skills.
