80% Tannat & 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The unique terroir of Alain Brumont's sprawling estate lends itself to profound wines that age beautifully. Often referred to as the Burgundy of the South West, the gentle slopes are littered with pebbles to allow the vines to spread and dig deep into the soil. The forward taste of fruit is evident but there is also spice, tobacco and long lingering tannins tending towards persistence and elegance – always best to open the bottle at least two hours before and decant. A perfect wine for meats, lamb, duck, game & coq au vin. A full-flavoured cheese course will lend itself enormously well.
