Three Choirs Vineyard, Newent, Gloucstershire
Grapes: 46% Phoenix, 22% Madeline Angevine, 17% Reichensteiner, 10% Orion, 5% Solaris
A crisp, refreshing wine providing distinctively English aromas and flavours of crisp green apples, elderflower and freshly cut grass. The ripe fruit flavours and soft acidity balance nicely to create a refreshing wine. Fantastic on its own or pair with fish dishes.
All the grapes are hand-picked to make minimum intervention wines, which truly express the vineyard and vintage.
La Cuvee de L’Oratoire 2003
Saint-Sauveur de Meilhan, Lot et Garonne, nr Bordeaux
Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon, Merlt
Agnes & Robert Schulte’s top wine from 40 year old vines. Rigorous selection produces low yields, & all the above grapes are the dominant vines with Syrah, Malbec & Abouriou also featuring. Matured for 12 months in 75% new oak barrels. Deliciously dense with exceptional concentration. Fruity with spice & chocolate and good tannin strength. Open and decant at least 4 hours. 2003 was a hot summer and the wines have forward tannins & a racy finish.
150g. Made by English Preserves in South London.
A rich dense paste, perfect for pairing with cheese. Made by English Preserves from locally sourced fruit, there is a delicate acidity that marries naturally to a range of cheese.
The original chocolate ‘kisses’ of roasted hazelnut pieces enrobed in dark bitter chocolate, from Barbero di Cherasco in Piedmont. The shop is now an ‘historical italian premises’ situated in the heart of the small town of Cherasco under the colonnade. This beautiful shop has been completely restored, with all the liberty period furnishings intact. We order their famous chocolates just in for Christmas. 135 g.
Throughout the year our kitchen brings down from the shop floor the loveliest seasonal ingredients and makes jams, marmalades & chutneys to last us through the colder months. Made in small batches, the ingredients change frequently throughout the year to ensure the freshest produce goes into our chutneys. Gorgeous alongside a cheese board but perhaps best on a simple sandwich with a slice of farmhouse cheddar!
From Sacchi Tartufi in Marche, Italy.
Acacia honey with chopped white truffles. Perfect with a range of cheeses – from creamy goats to spicier and more complex aged cheeses.
