Alain Brumont's signature Madiran is from the gravel-soil vineyards on a gentle 10-20% incline. There is plent of body and structure to these stunning wines. Dark, dense and powerful with full tannins that welcome food styles such as cassoulet and confit de canard, as well as game. The wines are placed in barrels made up of 20% new and 80% year-old barriques before bottling without filtration. The typical aromas of spice, tobacco and stone fruits are forward, and are a perfect match with the cheeses of the region.
