A Theatrical Evening of Spring Fare

As the spring tasting event with the Regents Park Open Air Theatre approaches the shop is brimming with seasonal fare. Our kitchen has been busy devising a delicious tasting menu for guests to enjoy.

With a Regents Park Rose Garden inspired Martini, Prosecco with strawberries and Whisky Sours on arrival along with Parmesan crisps and Cervelle Canut, the cheese room will devise a tasting journey of spring cheeses from the goat cheeses of Loire and Charente Poitou down to the South West of France and Provence paired with Le Roc Rosé and White wines. They then take us into the woods with the bosky flavours of Fleur de Maquis and Banon Feuille.
From northern Italy there will be a tasting of cheese and charcuterie from the Veneto, Piedmont and Lombardy paired with a red wine.

Taking inspiration from Open Air Theatre productions past and present we celebrate the upcoming theatre season with new season market produce from Pip's Essex asparagus to Chris Herald's spring leaves fresh picked that morning.
Throughout the evening guests will enjoy fabulous spring fare from Pea & Jersey Royal frittata, Risotto of Fave Bean and Asiago from the Veneto, little gem leaves of Maldon smoked trout, a Crucible inspired New England style Chowder, Macbeth rarebit with Isle of Mull Cheddar and spring Asparagus baked with Bayonne ham.
Various 'mini' desserts of Strawberry 'shortbreads', baked pear with biscotti and whisky laced bitter chocolate truffles along side Le Piantagioni coffee & mint tea will bring the evening to a delicious finale.

Members of the cast and crew from The Crucible will join us for the evening. Timothy Sheader, the Theatre's Artistic Director , who is directing The Crucible, will give a lively and impassioned talk on his vision for the Crucible and the artistic aspirations for the Theatre.
This evening promises to be tempting, delicious and entertaining - A theatrical feast! The mood will be enhanced by the sound of 1940's swing music, the inspiration for the 2010 production of The Comedy of Errors.
