Cheese Room > Persille du Marais
France, Pays Nantais
The Marais canals meander through the region near the Atlantic coastand parts are extremely picturesque, often referred to as The Venice of France. You can see cattle being transported on barges from one meadow to another and the goats, more temperamental and adventurous than sheep or cows, have to be fenced in otherwise they often unwittingly fall into the water. This is an intense tasting blue cheese, with that bittersweet accent often found in very dark chocolate. A perfect complement to the sharp white wines of the region, but also the sweeter versions too.
