Wine > Chianti Bernardino
Italy, Tuscany
Fattoria La Striscia, Gambassi Ferme, Tuscany. 85% Sangiovese, 15% each Canaiolo, Trebbiano & Malvasia. For its production, selected ripe grapes undergo fermentation with ambient yeasts in glass-lined cement vats. The malolactic fermentation occurs in barriques and large oak barrels, where the wine matures for some 12 months. The wine is then bottled in the villa's underground cellars, composed of massive 15th-century walls and vaulted ceilings. The robe or colour of the wine is a bright ruby red with a lovely crispy, rich berry fruit bouquet underlined by soft spice. This is a medium bodied wine with excellent structure and forward fruit which is ripe and ready to drink from a vineyard incorporating modern technology with traditional knowhow. A perfect luscious tasting Chianti.
