Thonon les Bains in the Savoie near Lake Geneva. Chasselas Grape 20 year old vines growing on high alpine gravel soil in the region where the Ducs de Savoie created vineyards in the 15th century. Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks and matured in oak vats for 10 months. The aromas have fruit and almond with a fresh citrus sharpness, and the taste is delicate on first impression but then the complex citrus aromas and bitter almond essence with pear and quince freshness hit your tastebuds. A very individual taste as an aperitif or serve with freshwater fish, fondue and tartiflette, as well hard mountain cheeses or blues like Stilton and Bleu de Gex.
