Chateau Montus Madiran, Gascony SW France. Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon. Alain Brumont's signature Madiran is from the gravel-soil vineyards on a gentle 10-20% incline. The wines are placed in barrels made up of 20% new and 80% old barriques before bottling without filtration. Stunning full bodied rich flavoured wine and perfect for beef, game and especially Cassoulet and Confit de Canard. The typical aromas af spice, tobacco and stone fruits are forward, and are a perfect match for the cheese of this region.
