From the Vercesi del Castellazzo vineyard in Mont Beccaria. 100% Croatina grape. From 30-35year old vineyards. The grapes are hand harvested slightly overripe to obtain smoother tannins, and vinified using two different methods either short maceration of 2 to 3 days or 2 to 3 weeks. The wine is poured as soon as possible into barriques where alcoholic fermentation is completed and malo-lactic fermentation starts. The wine is aged for 18 to 24 months depending on its structure pouring off a couple of times a year. The dark ruby almost violet colour has a bright freshness with distinctive spice and berry jam notes. Highly concentrated on the palate with plenty of masculine tannic texture typifies this wines which ages beautifully
